Celebrate World Calligraphy Day with a relaxing afternoon of creativity at Meli Mar Vista! In this special event, you’ll learn the basics of modern calligraphy and hand lettering with brush pens, then use your new skills to create your own watercolor greeting cards.

Whether you’ve never picked up a brush pen or you’ve joined us before, this workshop is designed to be fun, approachable, and inspiring.

We’ll start by covering the fundamentals of modern calligraphy through guided practice sheets. You’ll learn basic strokes, letterforms, and techniques, and you’ll receive a Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen to take home so you can continue practicing after class. 

Then we’ll switch gears and get creative! In the second half of the workshop, you’ll design and paint your own watercolor greeting cards. I’ll guide you through simple watercolor techniques and show you how to combine them with your lettering to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind cards. All watercolor and card-making supplies are provided, so just come ready to create.
